Drop off accepted batteries, UPS systems and electronic equipment at our North York location for recycling at no charge. We also provide commercial UPS removal and recycling services throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

Free Recycling Drop-Off

UPS Battery Center offers free drop-off recycling for accepted sealed lead-acid batteries, uninterruptible power supply systems and electronic waste. Our recycling program helps keep reusable materials in circulation and batteries and electronic components out of regular household waste.

We accept qualifying equipment and batteries from all brands. You do not need to have purchased the item from UPS Battery Center.

Items We Cannot Accept

Our drop-off program does not accept:

• Alkaline and other disposable household batteries
• Non-rechargeable lithium batteries
• Household appliances and kitchen electronics
• Televisions
• Lamps and light bulbs
• Smoke detectors
• Floor-standing printers and photocopiers
• Large servers
• Large speakers and speaker systems

Acceptance is subject to the item’s type, condition, size and quantity. Contact us before bringing unusual equipment or a large quantity of material.

Commercial UPS Removal, Decommissioning and Recycling

Do you have an old, failed or no-longer-needed uninterruptible power supply system taking up space at your facility? UPS Battery Center provides commercial UPS removal and recycling services for businesses, offices, warehouses, server rooms, data centres and other facilities throughout Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area.

We can help remove retired UPS equipment, external battery cabinets and related power equipment so it can be transported for appropriate recycling or disposal. Each project is reviewed individually based on the equipment, facility, access requirements and work involved.

UPS Decommissioning and Site Removal

Depending on the equipment and site conditions, a removal project may involve assessing the system, removing batteries, dismantling equipment, moving the equipment out of the electrical or equipment room, loading and transportation coordination.

Large UPS systems can be extremely heavy and may be located in restricted electrical rooms, basements, raised-floor environments or areas with limited access. Before providing a quote, we review the equipment size and weight, floor level, door clearances, stairs, elevators, loading access and other site requirements.

Electrical disconnection and other regulated work may need to be completed or coordinated by a qualified electrical professional. The required scope of work will be reviewed and confirmed before removal is scheduled.

Projects outside the Greater Toronto Area may also be considered depending on the equipment, location and scope of work.
